HubSpot User Groups and Why You Should be Part of One

HubSpot User Groups and Why You Should be Part of One

After last week’s launch of the HubSpot Podcast Network, it is clear that the commitment of HubSpot with the creation of educational, affordable content is growing. As a growth-driven platform, HubSpot understands that stepping out of our comfort zone and improving our knowledge every day is the only way a business can experience true success.

Education has always been present in HubSpot’s philosophy, particularly since the creation of the widely known learning platform HubSpot Academy. Mark Kilens, co-founder of this platform, underlined the idea that education makes a service more valuable to their customers. But, rather than a classroom, Kilens’ aim was to create a community.

“People need more than just the education. They need to use their education and drive real value from it. We need to help people find employment. We need to enable people to learn from one another. We need to build these bridges for people, to help them connect.”

With that purpose in mind, HubSpot has just announced the comeback of HubSpot User Groups (HUGs) with 5 days full of events.

What is a HUG?

Since restrictions regarding physical contact and hugging have just been lifted in the UK, we thought it only fair to write a blog post about it. But, in this case, I wanted to bring you a different version of a warm gesture.

The HubSpot User Group (HUG) program is a project led by HubSpot that attempts to create a network of user groups across the globe. In the HUBs, people will be able to connect and learn from each other, as well as to attend webinars organised together with professors of the HubSpot Academy. HUGs are open and free for anyone, HubSpot users or not, and are hosted by experienced HubSpot Solutions Partners (like us!).

HUGs are completely free, and you can join any of the events through the HUG directory.

Why is a HUG important for a Building Product Business?

Whilst the original goal of HUG was allowing to connect HubSpot users nearby to share their experiences and inspire each other, the scope of the program has widened and there are now user groups dedicated to different industries, like construction, engineering, and manufacturing.

People of similar sectors are encouraged to come together and share the tips that they have found useful to make the most of their HubSpot platform. On top of that, there are other reasons that make these events worth attending, too.

#1 Opening Your Mind

One of the main reasons why building product businesses feel stuck is because they cannot see the forest for the trees, because they focus too much on tiny details and they lose sight of the big picture. HUGs are a wonderful opportunity to shift that focus and become aware of the diversity within the construction sector.

#2 Connecting with Other Building Product Businesses

Each HUG is organised by a partner agency that has positioned itself within the experts of their field. At the end of every HUG, you will be able to take part in a Q&A session where hosting agency will share their personal experiences and answer questions that could give you new ideas of how to grow your building product business.

#3 Discovering Different Strategies

Few people understand that construction is one of the fastest-changing sectors due to the exponential rate at which technology is advancing. Far from the traditional perception of this sector as something static and old-fashioned, construction businesses are digital and creative environments full of opportunities.

#4 Keeping Up with the Latest Updates

HubSpot is constantly evolving and the speed at which they are releasing new features is surpassing all expectations. Regardless of the HUG that you are attending, it is very likely that an expert is one of the guest speakers and that they are looking forward to sharing with you some of the latest HubSpot updates.

75 HUGs in 5 days

During the week of the 24th of May, HubSpot has organised 75 HUGs. Over the course of 5 days, move than 10 events will be delivering daily, covering marketing, sales and automation, as well as the recently launched Operations Hub.

The Manufacturing and Engineering HUG will be hosting their first ever HubSpot event, addressing questions regarding audience targeting, social media exposure and the role of personalisation when improving the effectiveness of the sales team. Like with all HUGs, at the end of the event, there will be a Q&A session that will allow attendees to discuss these topics further and network.

Soon, Insynth Marketing will be organising the first Construction HUG event so, if you do not want to miss out on it, I recommend you subscribe to our newsletter.

A Challenge for You

After reading all this information about the HUGs, you might feel tempted to join one of them. But, if you are still doubtful, there is one last thing that I need to tell you: doubt will make you grow. It is only when stepping out of our comfort zone and engaging in something that we are not sure about that we will be able to discover new and exciting things.

I challenge you to join a HUG next week, just one, with the purpose of learning something from it: from the partner agency that is hosting the event, from the guest expert invited or from the questions answered at the end of the talk. I challenge you to step out of what you know and to expose yourself to being surprised and inspired by people that share the same goal as you do: to see their dream business grow.
